ASTHMA BATH in Naturopathy

USEFUL FOR: ASTHMA BRONCHITIS, UPPER RESPIRATORY TRACT IFECTION.

PROCEDURE: During Asthma bath, patient will be made to lie in the immersion tub, half filled with water, at a temperature of 37–38°c. The hot water tap is then opened and temperature is raised up to 40 to 42°C. The duration is four minutes. Then the body is rubbed, beginning with the left leg, then the left arm, abdomen, chest, right arm, right leg, back and the spine. The spine is rubbed till the skin turns red. After rubbing the spine, the chest and the abdomen are rubbed again, for three to four minutes. When rubbing is over, the flow of hot water is stopped. Then you are asked to sit in an upright position and exhale for an instant, and a bucketful of cold water is splashed over the back. Immediately, the patient is asked to inhale, and half a bucket of cold water is poured on chest. Now the patient is to lie in this potion for 2–4 minutes. Finally, a short, cold shower for 2 minutes, and thirty to forty minutes of relaxation is advised.

ABDOMINAL PACK Naturopathy Procedure

USEFUL IN : DIGESTIVE DISORDERS LIKE CONTIPATION, DIARRHEA, DYSENTERY, GAS FORMATION, FLATULENCE, HYPERACIDITY, ULCER, AMOEBIASIS, OVER/UNDER WEIGHT & IN ALL CHRONIC DISEASES

PROCEDURE: 1. Dip a cotton cloth in cold water, wring out.  Wrap the wet cloth around the abdomen from lower part of the ribs to the groin.  Wrap the dry cloth and the flannel.

Fenugreek Tea (Good in infections, diabetes mellitus & Rheumatoid Arthritis)

Ingredients: (for 1 cup) Methi seeds (1 tsp) Water – 1 cup Honey/jaggery – to taste . Soak methi seeds overnight. Boil the seeds & water next day. Strain the seeds & add honey/jaggery at the end.

Body Cleansing drink (effective in getting the stomach rid of gases & to improve the intestinal peristalisis)

For winter (Sep- Feb)

Saunf               ½ tsp

Ajwain             1 tsp

Pudina             8 – 10 leaves

For Summer (Mar-Aug)

Saunf               1 tsp

Ajwain             ½ tsp

Pudina             8 – 10 leaves

Add all the ingredients to 300 ml water & reduce it to 150 ml. Strain & serve.

Hot Ginger Tea (good remedy for bronchitis, sinusitis, sore throat & cold)

Ingredients :

Water              1 ltr                 Fresh ginger                2 inch piece

Honey              optional           Lemon juice                optional

Bring water to boil, add ginger. Reduce heat & simmer it for 10 minutes, strain & add honey & lemon juice if desired.

Laxative Tea

(good in constipation & for soothing the stomach &  relieving gases)

Ingredients (for 1 cup)

Amla powder              1 tsp    Mulethi powder          ½ tsp

Small harad powder.  ½ tsp    Lemon             few drops

Rock salt                      ¼ tsp    Honey/jaggery            ½ tsp

Sunth powder.             ½ tsp

Boil together all ingredients except lemon in 1.5 cups of water & reduce it to 1 cup. Strain & add honey or jaggery & add lemon at the end. Hypertensive should avoid salt.
