My daily routine for great health
Nowadays, standard advice is EVERYTHING IN MODERATION. This principle is applicable to everything-eating, drinking, sleeping, working & even loving. Moderation results in lower stress level & reduced heart risk disease.
My preferred daily routine which I suggest to all involves the following:
- Try to get up before sunrise, it gives you plenty of time to work for your health and you are not in a hurry. Drink 3 to 4 glasses of lukewarm water and walk for 20 minutes.
- Do practice yoga and pranayam for 30 minutes. I always involve surya namaskar in my routine.
- Take a glass of green juice which may include bottle gourd, spinach, coriander, wheat grass, aloe vera, Amla (Indian gooseberry), peppermint, cucumber etc.
- After 30 minutes, you can take breakfast which may include seasonal fruits, fresh fruit juices, porridge (dalia), sprouts etc.
- During lunch time you can adopt two plate systems. First plate consists of salads and second plate consists of normal meal of your choice. First finish salad followed by second plate. Do not drink water for 45 minutes after the lunch.
- Take lightest dinner and maintain a gap of 3 hours in between dinner and sleep.
- Ensure 7 to 8 hours of sleep for good health.
- Avoid or minimize processed food and sweets.
- Do practice meditation once a day, preferably before sleep.

This is a research based program which brings you immense health benefits and improve your mind’s capacity to heal your body. I have been using this program in my patients and sometimes even I get surprised to see the outcome. Here is the procedure.
- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â First 10 minutes :
- Start with positive thoughts. Spread your arms & move it up & down like wings. Moving your arm with palms facing upwards will balance Yin & palms facing downwards will balance Yang energy.
- Lie on your back, lift your leg & move it clockwise (10 times) & repeat it with another leg. Repeat this exercise anticlockwise also. It helps in balancing Yin & Yang energies of the lower body.
- Then, move your neck right & left. Concentrate on the part where you feel the stiffness & intend that it is getting healthy.
- Next 10 minutes :
- Relax , Lie down & just observe your breath – inhalation & exhalation. Start with your toes to head, focus on an organ & relax it.
- Next 10 minutes :
- Perform simple pranayam – Naadi shodhan, Kapalbhati, Bhramari. Learn & practice pranayam from an able guide/teacher or if not possible just practice deep breathing and focus on that.
- Next 10 minutes :
- Sit quietly for 5 minutes. Inhale swiftly & relax. Clench your teeth & concentrate on your spine from sacral vertebrae to head & observe warm/cold sensation, intend that all the energies are balanced. Relax & repeat it 5 times.
- Next 10 minutes :
- Sit, relax & close your eyes, bring your focus on breathing. Relax your body. After 5 minutes, concentrate on your left brain (here all the senses are based) relax it & then right brain and relax. Now repeat this affirmation:
- I am full of energy.
- I am filled with positive thoughts.
- I am full of confidence.
- My mind is completely relaxed.
- Creatively visualize your life goal & it will be fulfilled. Rub your hands & cover your eyes. Take 3 deep breaths & open your eyes. Remember where ever you bring your attention, healing starts in that area.
